Mounting Options for Forgen 500 series

Various Mounting Options include:

  • Wedge Mount and Bracket – used to fit to a vertical flat surface
  • Rail Plate c/w wedge mount and bracket – used to fit to a tubular vertical or horizontal rail
  • Side Mount – used in extreme environments of cold temperature and high winds
  • Pole Mount – Mounting on top of a standard 2″/50mm pole

 

Wedge Mount and Bracket

Forgen Mounting Options - Wedge Mount

  1. The wedge is fitted to a flat surface via 3 countersunk screws
  2. The bracket is then slotted over the wedge to provide a tight, secure fit
  3. Tighten the grub screw at the base of the bracket

 

Rail Plate c/w Wedge Mount

  1. The wedge is fitted to the pre drilled rail plate
  2. The rail plate is then fitted to a horizontal or vertical tube/rail
  3. The bracket is then slotted over the wedge in the same way as the standard wedge and bracket configuration

Note: This configuration is often used to fit a turbine to a guard rail on a boats transom.

 

Side Mount
Forgen Mounting Options - Side Mount

This mounting arrangement is fully assembled at the factory, such that installation is carried out by simply fixing the vertical bar to a horizontal surface (usually via countersunk screws).

Note: This mounting is most suitable for extreme environments including consistently high winds.

 

Pole Mounting

  1. The Forgen wind turbine is fist located and fixed to the top of the mount via a threaded hole and nuts
  2. There is the option of pulling the cable through the centre of the pole using the external gland located on the side of the pole mount
  3. Tighten the pole mount to the pole using the three grub screws located on the bottom of the pole mount as shown
